House Manual and Astoria Guide

Check in is available anytime after 4:00 pm.

Entry and exit- For your convenience the flat is equipped with an electronic lock, we will send you a door code before your stay.

TV- We use a Roku TV and provide YouTube TV for cable and local channel access. YouTube TV is accessed via opening the "YouTubeTV" Application using the direction keys on the remote, . Also, any of the TV apps can be accessed through the Roku main menu. If you login to one of your own accounts please remember to log out. The Volume button is on the side of the remote.

Coffee and tea-

We provide an assortment of tea and local coffee. We have provided an electric kettle and a pour over coffee dripper. The pour over coffee can be made directly into your cup or into the insulated carafe.

Instructions for making coffee using the pour over method can be found here.

Furnace and heaters-

The gas furnace in the dining room is controlled by the thermostat mounted near the kitchen pass-through. It should be set to a comfortable temperature but can be adjusted if needed. Warning- the furnace gets very hot (especially the top) and nothing should be placed on on it nor should it be leaned on or sat upon. Once it activates and gets to temperature a fan will initiate to better distribute air throughout the dinning and living room area.

Each bedroom is equipped with an electric floorboard style heater with a knob stye temperature control knobs.

House Rules-

We have quiet hours established from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am, we are located in an area with apartments that are occupied by locals who live and work here and we want to be respectful and not be disruptive to their daily lives.

Check out-

Check out is at 11:00 am

As you would expect from visitors to your home, please leave the home in the condition you found it.

Please report any damage.

Trash- if the trash and/or recycle bins fill and need to be emptied during your stay, please contact your host and we will provide access to trash/recycle bins located in the basement of the building. We ask you wash the dishes you’ve used (okay to leave in drying rack).

We also ask you strip the beds you used and start a load of laundry with the queen bed’s sheets and up to two towels (more will overload the washer), please use 1 detergent pod. Set the washing machine to "Quick" and select Cold + Medium Soil and then press and hold the Start button. This allows us to complete the laundry efficiently during turnovers and keeps the cleaning fee as low as possible.

Parking

On street. Space is typically available on Exchange Street in front or near the building. If there is not an open space, then more on street parking is available on 15th or 16th Streets. Since Exchange Street is one-way with two lanes, if parking is unavailable at the time you arrive, we have briefly double parked with our Hazard lights on to drop off luggage and or heavy items in front of the building, before finding adjacent street parking.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need any additional information, we really want your visit to be comfortable and fulfilling. Jake's Cell Phone #503-791-8975
